Recent Improvements

This spring was the first year that many of the new trees planted last year along the south loop of Bashore Drive, bloomed. The Friends group, with partial funding from a Marcellus Shale grant, volunteers Gene, Bruce, and Jim, and park employees Craig and Caleb, were able to remove the many dead and dying cherry trees to replace them with over a dozen new pink and white cherry and dogwood trees. This spring was a preview of how beautiful this area will be in the coming years as these trees mature.

And special thanks to Pat Royer who also donated one of the trees in honor of Kitty Logan to fulfill a promise made several years ago.
